Foster Harris House
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, just steps from The Inn at Little Washington and minutes from Shenandoah National Park, the Foster Harris House offer comfortable, refined accommodations in an enchanting country setting.
Each of the inn’s five guest rooms has exquisitely soft linens, spa robes, and a private bath with a rainfall shower. Most guest rooms are accented with cozy free-standing stoves and offer expansive views of the perennial gardens, meadows, and surrounding mountains.
Breakfast at the Foster Harris House is included with your stay and is a lavish, unhurried four-course meal. Your day may begin with fresh baked ginger scones, followed by seasonal fruit topped with cannoli cream and cinnamon straw. For the main course, you may enjoy an entree of roasted red pepper and gruyere souffle accompanied by hickory-smoked bacon glazed in a raspberry chipotle sauce. A sweet finish may include blueberry cheesecake crepes with Creme Anglaise.
Dinner is available on weekends to both overnight guests and to the public by reservation. Dinner at the Foster Harris House unites the elements that inspire Chef John’s culinary muse: fruits and vegetables from the rich soil of Rappahannock County, surprising flavors, bold splashes of color and family traditions. Each plate is artfully composed to entice the eyes and the appetite. The intimate dining room of only 10 seats and just one seating per night allows for an unhurried and personal dining experience.
Our five-course, prix fixe menu is available for $89 per person or $119 with wine pairings (plus tax and gratuity) every Friday and Saturday by reservation. Dinner is available to both overnight and non-overnight guests and while there is no dress code for dinner, most guests are in smart casual attire.
The dining room is also available for private dinner parties of 6 – 10 guests on Sunday – Thursday evenings by arrangement. Just contact us!
