You’re in luck! You can find Virginia craft beer in many fine breweries here in Central Virginia. Even beer and wine lovers nationwide have taken note. Virginia has become a wine and craft beer travel destination.

In fact, Virginia’s craft beer scene has exploded in the last decade. Breweries have emerged providing exceptional brews and something more. The craft beer scene has sparked a whole new social scene. Now craft beer and wine stores highlight Virginia’s own brews and spirits with regularly scheduled tastings.

Here in Central Virginia, you can take advantage of the Brew Ridge Trail. This is a self-guided tour, which allows you to visit some of the finest of the 120 breweries in Virginia such as:

  • Blue Mountain Barrel House, Colleen
  • Blue Mountain Brewery, Afton
  • Devils Backbone Brewing Company, Wintergreen
  • South Street, Charlottesville
  • Starr Hill  Crozet
  • Wild Wolf Brewing Company, Wintergreen

You can visit these breweries in any order you wish during their regular business hours.

Craft Beer Trail: Nelson 151 Tour

Or check out the Nelson 151 Tour. This tour includes 3 craft beer breweries, 5 wineries, and one cidery. All are located along the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains with the views to go with it.

You’ll also find locally sourced food, restaurants and outdoor recreation. It’s all within easy access of the Blue Ridge Parkway, too.

Make sure you plan your tour accordingly. Make reservations at one of our accommodating StayVA bed and breakfast inns. On the Valley side of the mountain, the Iris Inn is an excellent choice.
